CM's Eagle Setups ver1.0 2/7/00

Installation

Just unzip this file and move the setups to their appropriate setup/track folders.

A few words on the setups included in this file.

I have included my Eagle setups for all 11 original track, both of Dave Noonan's masterpiece add on tracks, Brands Hatch and the new Osterreich Ring. I have also included updated oval track setups for the Eagle. 21 setups in all.

The setups ideology.

All of these setups are a culmination of all my experience and skill since that first day in October 1998 when I fired-up GPL for the first time on my computer. They are all 100% built from the ground up by me. My ideology of setting up the cars to run best has continually evolved, along with a physics change from Papy, since the first lap I ever took in GPL. I do remember that first lap, it was in the Lotus 49 at Kyalami with no driver aids on, (never used them) took me about 5 minutes to get around.....LOL!

The setups themselves.

Every setup is the race proven setup I use everytime I race, they are not "trick" hot lap setups. They are designed to get the most out of a the car over the entire course of the race. All my road course setups use 6 clutches with 85/30 ramp angles exclusively. I use a very neutral suspension setup with this drive train package. I believe the drive train is most important in regard to road holding. By using 6 clutches and 85/30 ramp angle you get the most response possible out of the back of the car. You will find with theses setups that the car will become looser the harder you rev, looser = faster. So you will have to attack the track to get the most out of these setups and the Eagle is the perfect car for pushing the limit. For the oval setups, I just fell on my ICR2 experience and went from there.

Just remember make a smooth shift at 12 O'clock on the RPM gauge and keep the revs up. If you would like to see replays of my hotlaps in these setups you can them for most of the tracks at "Schubi's" hot lap site : http://www.parc-ferme.de/fastlaps.htm
